A landowner with 30 acres of woodland contacted us about logging his woods. We did so and found nice, valuable white oak that could be sold as a veneer sale. When contacting the neighbors concerning their boundary lines, they asked that we also cut their woodlots. We logged a total of 4 properties in the neighborhood. While there, we purchased a forwarder, a piece of logging equipment that allowed us to begin cutting the trees to log length right in the woods. A full-length log tends to skin up the young trees that we left to grow. The forwarder lets us sneak through the woods in a much less invasive way as it carries the logs.
